A Hothouse Flower?

a: Schizophrenic ~
b: a unique species of flower

What: "Science has taken the perspective out of the matter and focuses only on the chemicals ("look, this chemical is associated with this bad thing or this good thing!") They forget that they should be thinking about who and what these individuals actually are. When you understand schizophrenics not as some strange flawed genetic fluke and more like a unique species of flower that is failing to attain its nutrients, we might be in a better position to help them. Because throwing antipsychotic medications at them doesn't help (it's like trying to fix a complex [and intelligent] machine by throwing a wrench in it. You might stop the faulty functioning, but you sure as hell didn't fix it."
